How this chart works

Each step on the map is shaded by how long work typically waits there, and the busiest hand-offs are emphasized so bottlenecks stand out at a glance. A side panel ranks the distinct routes work takes from start to finish; selecting a route traces it directly on the map. A date slider replays the workflow as it appeared at any chosen point in time, and timing is shown as both a median and an 85th-percentile figure so a fast average never hides a slow tail. An on-page assistant can answer questions about specific steps or routes.
