PII Detection Trend
VisualThe absolute count of PII detections can be misleading if overall Jira activity is also changing. The PII rate — detections as a percentage of total events — is the more meaningful metric. A falling rate even as activity grows indicates that data hygiene is improving. A rising rate indicates that a growing proportion of work is generating personal data exposure.
What you can conclude
- A declining PII rate following a training initiative or process change is evidence that the intervention worked.
- A rising PII rate indicates that whatever is generating personal data exposure is increasing — new integrations, new workflows, or team growth outpacing awareness.
- A stable rate indicates a steady-state problem — the sources of PII are consistent and known, even if not yet eliminated.
How this chart works
Weekly line chart showing total PII detections alongside total events, enabling the PII rate percentage to be tracked over time. The PII rate (right axis, green) shows detections as a percentage of all events. Use the date and project filters to focus on specific teams or periods.
