Off-Hours Events by Actor(5.6.7)

Some off-hours activity is expected and legitimate — global teams, flexible working, urgent issues. But an actor where more than 25% of all their events occur outside business hours may indicate that automated processes are running under their credentials, that someone is making changes they don't want to be visible during work hours, or simply that someone is working unusual hours for personal reasons.

Each actor is labeled with the type of account Jira reports for it. An action Jira records under a person's account counts as that person's, even when automation or another tool acted under their credentials, so such activity still reads as that person's.

What you can conclude

• An actor with a very high off-hours percentage and a high absolute event count warrants a review — is this legitimate flexible working or something that needs explanation?
• An account Jira reports as an app or as a service-desk customer is shown with its type and is not flagged: neither keeps working hours, so its off-hours activity says nothing about a person's hours.
• Actors with modest off-hours percentages in the context of clearly flexible working arrangements require no action.

How this chart works

Horizontal bar chart ranking actors by total count of events outside business hours (before 08:00 or from 18:00 in the organization's time zone on weekdays, or at any time on a Saturday or Sunday), with off-hours percentage shown in the tooltip. The organization's time zone is inferred from the timestamps Jira sends for the site; where it could not be inferred, UTC is used instead, and working hours cannot yet be changed from the dashboard. Bars are red when the actor exceeds the 25% threshold, amber otherwise. Only people's accounts and accounts whose type Jira did not return can turn red; app and customer accounts are drawn with their type and never flagged. Use the date and project filters to focus on specific periods.
