Resolution velocity is the most direct measure of a project's execution pace — how many issues it is delivering each week (closures into abandoned or duplicate statuses are carried separately in the same row, not counted as delivery). Comparing velocity across projects in the same portfolio reveals where execution capacity is concentrated and where it is lagging. The week-over-week delta shows whether each project is accelerating or decelerating.

What you can conclude

  • A project with declining resolution velocity that is not in a planned deceleration phase warrants attention — something is slowing the team down.
  • Projects with consistent week-over-week velocity are predictable and plannable — their throughput can be reliably counted on.
  • A portfolio where most projects are accelerating simultaneously indicates good organizational momentum.

How this chart works

Grouped bar chart showing resolved issues per week per project, with week-over-week delta annotations. Use the date and project filters to focus on specific periods or teams.

The week in progress is shown at its raw count so far. Because the week is not yet complete, it carries no week-over-week change and does not enter the moving average.
