Portfolio Resolution Velocity
VisualResolution velocity is the most direct measure of a project's execution pace — how many issues it is completing each week. Comparing velocity across projects in the same portfolio reveals where execution capacity is concentrated and where it is lagging. The week-over-week delta shows whether each project is accelerating or decelerating.
What you can conclude
- A project with declining resolution velocity that is not in a planned deceleration phase warrants attention — something is slowing the team down.
- Projects with consistent week-over-week velocity are predictable and plannable — their throughput can be reliably counted on.
- A portfolio where most projects are accelerating simultaneously indicates good organizational momentum.
