Shared Contributor Overlap(3.6.6)

Contributors often work in more than one project. This matrix shows how many contributors each pair of projects has in common, so you can see where a single group of people carries several projects at once.

What you can conclude

• A pair of projects with high overlap draws on the same people, so a change in one project's demands is felt in the other.
• High overlap is the normal signature of leads, managers, platform teams and service accounts. It describes how the organization is staffed; it is not a finding about any individual.
• A matrix with low overlap everywhere indicates the projects are staffed independently of one another.

How this chart works

Each cell counts the contributors who appear in both projects. A blank cell means the pair shares nobody, and the diagonal is blank because a project is not compared with itself. Cell color is scaled to the largest overlap currently on screen, so it ranks pairs within this matrix rather than marking an absolute threshold. Overlap is computed from all recorded activity in the event stream; it is not restricted to risk or escalation events. The date filter selects the project pairs that were active in the period, while the contributor counts themselves cover all recorded activity.
